241 High Street, Baltic, CT: DBR 15
This friendly bar is located in the old mill village of Baltic, located in the town of Sprague, and is aptly named as it stands almost on the peak of the southern ridge of the Shetucket river valley. Baltic’s mammoth cotton mill was built during the Civil War. This wonderful architectural masterpiece, the largest cotton mill in Connecticut, recently burnt down. But large sections can still be seen. There are hundreds of mill houses in Baltic occupied today by employees from the nearby Foxwoods and Mohegan Casinos. There is live music every Friday night at the Hillside Café, and the draft beers on offer are Bass, Sam Adams, Busch, Budweiser, Bud Lite, and Coors Lite. Pool tables.
